Review: Rockstar is a story of a young boy Jordan who wants to be a rock star. Although this movie is not much about his journey of musical career, its more a love story where a heart broken boy turned into an anguish rock star. All the songs of the movie are delightful. Ranbir's acting was fine who looks more a growing up boy than a rock star. Nargis was an average. A R Rahman rocked throughout the movie with his genius soundtracks either it is Sufi music or the Shehnai-Guitar combo or the music in background. First half of the movie went smoothly and entertainingly with its nice comedy, good screenplay and very beautiful Kashmir locations. Second half is a bit slow paced and shows the romantic side of the movie. Overall, it's a nice movie. It's a must one time watch.
Brief Story: Janardan Jakhar(Ranbir Kapoor) is a middle-class, college going boy from Delhi who wants to become a rock star like his idol, Jim Morrison. When he is told that he can't be a great musician until he is suffered from a great pain, he sets himself to get his heart broken. Then he comes to know about the beautiful, rich , college diva Heer(Nargis Fakhri) who is said to be a machine to break hearts. So he forces himself to fall in love with her and soon they become such good friends that he even ignores very good offers of becoming a good star. They even fall in unintentional love. When Heer got married to someone else, romance from JJ's heart unfolds on live stages in the form of an explosive music and transforms him into Jordan who is an edgy, anguish artist. His new style, love and pain in him makes him as famous as his idol.
